"MAtematika RAdoSTně" project ("mathematics merrily", abbreviated as MARAST) was created thanks to the support of MŠMT funding (project 1105/2012). The actual web portal has been developed in collaboration with Tomáš Kadlec during the winter semester of academic year 2012/2013.

By this time we have started filling the database with problems for Introduction to Mathematical Analysis (BI-ZMA) course. Big thanks goes to tutors of this course, in particular to Jitka Hrabáková, Daniel Vašata, Ivo Petr and Vendula Honzlová Exnerová (MFF UK). Some of those problems are accessible to students in Exercises, other serve as problems for tests and exams. Still other set of problems is available as a part of on-line quizzes.

Gradually, BI-ZMA was joined by other courses. At the present moment (summer semester of the academic year 2020/2021) there are the following major courses employing MARAST:

Code Course Exercises Tests Quizzes
BI-AG1 Algorithms and Graphs 1 No No Yes
BI-AAG Automata and Grammars Yes No Yes
BI-BEZ Security Yes No Yes
BI-LIN Linear Algebra Yes Yes Yes
BI-MLO Mathematical Logic No Yes No
BI-ZDM Elements of Discrete Mathematics No No Yes
BI-ZMA Elements of Mathematical Analysis Yes Yes Yes
BIK-PST Probability and Statistics No No Yes

Students of Faculty of information technology can contribute to the development of MARAST. So far there are five contributions:

Bc. Kryštof Slavík
Generation and management of written tests, 2016
Ondřej Naňka
Module for symbolic testing of answers in mathematical quizzes, 2017
Bc. Jindřich Štěpánek
Mobile application for MARAST, 2017
Peter Bočan, Adam Bohbot, Minh Trieu Quang
Various improvements of source code and UI/UX
Jan Wijnhorst, 2020
Possibility to use a calculator while solving quizzes. Color themes.

We wish you many happy moments with mathematics,

Karel Klouda and Tomáš Kalvoda
